Learn How To Make A Farmhouse Jelly Roll Rug Free Tutorial and Supply List

Farmhouse Rug by Home Stitchery Decor
Home Stitchery Decor was an idea brought on by Jellyroll Rugs. I saw them in a store and thought wow! I just had to try to make them!
I just picked up the fabric and started to sew.
Disclaimer – I never bought a pattern.
A couple rugs later we threw a Superbowl party and all my friends were threatening to steal the Farmhouse Rugs I had made for our house. I knew right then I was onto something. And sew began Home Stitchery Decor. If you would rather buy a rug then make your own please head over to

Although I do many things now...rugs are where it all began!
Okay now for the technical part. I am an Amazon Affiliate. Every person with a business is an affiliate of something. If you choose to purchase supplies via one of my shared links, I get paid. This is at no additional cost to you. I am so grateful to each and everyone of you watching and sharing techniques. If you choose to subscribe thank you so much for participating in my journey.
Please follow me on any media you like and post pictures of what you made. I LOVE seeing what other people come up with to put their own twist on patterns. Aside from dogs this is my favorite thing in life! If you post your rug with a dog even better!
Phew - now that's over ON TO THE SHOW!
Here are a bunch of links for items used in the video which can help you make your own rug.
Singer Sewing Machine -
I use the Singer Heavy Duty for my rugs and you can too.
Sunk in Sewing Table - a table that the machine sits down in is best for this project.
The rug will get really big and it's best not to have your fabric pulling in any direction.
Schmetz Jeans Needles - a jean needle is strong enough to go thru the multiple layers without breaking.
Pellon Batting Strips - you will need two packages for a 40 Strip Rug,
or Pellon Batting cut into strips at 2 1/4
Make sure you buy the 80/20 Batting
Thread of your choice. I personally use whatever good quality thread I find on sale. Wonderfil, Masterquilter etc...
Jellyroll Strips
or
Quilting Cotton You Hand Cut
For the project in the video you will need 40 strips at 2 1/2 inches. Standard Jellyrolls come with 40 Strips. If you choose to cut your own fabric strips, I recommend buying 10 co-ordinating prints and cutting 4 strips in each color WOF - width of fabric.
